The time of year was cold and I drove through late at night, so I saw the dregs of society. However, after the bars closed at three, police were running around trying to help and there was a homeless man in a store having an episode and an officer was standing there waiting to help, when he obviously could have been doing something else and I'm confident he would have preferred to be somewhere else.
We found surprisingly high quality, world class attractions. We spent a few wonderful days in the area and would be excited to explore more if we find ourselves in the area again. Much more homeless and many clearly on drugs. In my opinion. City has gone downhill fast. Downtown was still nice but venture at all away. Needing a key fob to get in was nice, it made you feel safe since you are downtown. The apartment was exceptionally clean. In a hotel, you usually get black feet from the floors.
Did not happen with this apartment. The bedding smelled freshly laundered and the apartment smelled like cleaning supplies which is good - not bad.
